I take a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). My goal is to help people better understand what they’re going through and develop practical ways to manage depression, anxiety, personality patterns, and more complex mental health challenges.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward, therapy can help you make sense of what’s happening and begin to create meaningful change.
I work with individuals, couples, and families, and also offer DBT-informed, stress-reduction, and mindfulness-based groups. Each person’s situation is different, so I tailor the work to fit your specific needs, goals, and pace. I believe meaningful change comes from both understanding patterns and learning how to respond differently to them in real time.
I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and obtained my clinical social work license soon after. Over the past 28 years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings—including outpatient clinics, inpatient psychiatric facilities, academic institutions, and forensic environments—providing assessment, education, and therapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
If you’re considering therapy, I’m happy to talk through your situation and see if this approach feels like a good fit.
"You can have 28 years of experience, or one year repeated 28 times. It’s the difference between growth and repetition."
